Spider Veins

Spider veins are small tiny blood vessels that usually are a cosmetic nuisance, and present as fine linear red streaks on the legs and face. They can be a sign of an underlying medical condition, and should be evaluated by a dermatologist if they continue to worsen, but this is rare.

Treatment is usually dictated by the location. Spider veins on the face respond remarkably well to laser technology, while lesions on the legs do much better with a procedure called sclerotherapy (small injections of a medical solution into the lesions themselves).
