Radiessse uses calcium hydroxylapetite to provide more longer lasting correction to deeper folds and wrinkles, and larger areas of volume losses to the face. Radiesse has proven to last 12-18 months in most clients, and is mostly utilized in those patients who have used fillers before but who are seeking something that is longer lasting. It feels a bit firmer than the hyaluronic acid fillers, like Restylane, but for this reason, also provides a better lifting action to the treatment areas. It is gradually replaced by the body’s own tissue and is slowly absorbed by the body over time. Radiesse is one of the few filler options that intentionally create the bodies own collagen for a longer lasting result.

Dr. Michaels uses topical anesthetic cream for comfort to minimize the pinprick feeling of the injections. There is a possibility of bruising, swelling and/or tenderness in the area for approximately five days. Ice will help address swelling and cosmetics can conceal bruising if necessary. Two days of rest are recommended before returning to work.
