Perlane is a larger particle version of Restylane, and generally used for implantation into the deeper tissues of the skin for volumization. It behaves very similarly to Restylane. Dr. Michaels will often use a combination of both products to achieve the most perfect results for the given treatments areas.

Perlane is a nice option to treat volume losses in the cheeks, restore areas of fat losses in front of the jowls, and help in the treatment of deeper nasolabial folds. It is among the most commonly used fillers in Dr. Michaels’ practice.

Dr. Michaels uses topical anesthetic cream for comfort to minimize the pinprick feeling of the injections. Sometimes injectable anesthetics are used for the ultimate in comfort. There is a possibility of bruising, swelling and/or tenderness in the area for approximately five days. Ice will help address swelling and cosmetics can conceal bruising if necessary. Two days of rest are recommended before returning to work.
